Description

Algae blooms not only detract from the appearance of ponds, but also cause excess sludge accumulation, which may require costly dredging and disposal. The Problem of Algae Bloom

1. 1. During night time, the alga which is not capable of photosynthesis settles to the bottom of pond and it causes lack of oxygen in the water.
2. 2. Cause unpleasant of taste, odor, and turbidity
3. 3. Cause death of fish because algae attaches to fish's gill.

Method to control algae

Dissolved Air Flotation, DAF

• - This process operates by introducing coagulant which cause conesion of algae bloom in a pond, then injecting micro bubbles into the air.
• - The micro bubbles float with contaminants on the water surface.

• - This process operates by introducing coagulant, then it passes filtration.
• - It can control and treat high turbidity.
• - Advantage: increases filtration speed, high efficiency, effective in high turbidity, less required site area.
• - Disadvantage: requires frequent backwash, skilled workmanship required

Sludge collecting system by vacuum pump

• - By stationing suction equipment which contains vacuuming and transferring devices on the ship, it takes out solid sludge on the bottom of the pond.
• - However, during this process the concentration level of sludge can be diluted.

Maintenance and Control

ADS(Air Fiffusion System)

Put diffusor on the bottom of pond to supply air in the water, thus dissolved oxygen rate is increased.
